Your new role
This is an interesting and varied role for an experienced Building Surveyor wanting to become involved in working for a successful multidisciplinary consultancy. The role is working within one of our Building Surveying Teams on Public Sector housing projects from inception to completion with the opportunity to get involved in work across a range of Sectors. This role will suit a building surveyor with drive and ambition who wishes to be working within an existing team and part of a successful division. You must have good traditional Building Surveying skills and experience, strong communication skills with the ability to interface with Clients/Contractors and other professionals. This is an excellent role for a candidate wishing to progress within a successful business in a truly collaborative environment. You will be Responsible for managing technical work and projects under the direction of a Senior Line Manager, including:
Liaising with Clients and Contractors on technical and Contractual matters.
Taking full responsibility for technical matters on projects within his/her control.
Working with in-house Disciplines and external Consultants.
Programming and managing own work and resources to ensure satisfactory performance on all aspects of work.
Client Liaison under the direction of Senior Line Manager.
Full range of professional services including: - Condition and Scoping Surveys and Planned Maintenance Programmes, Building Defects Analysis/Pathology, Preparation of Specifications, Contract Administration and running large and small Projects. Preparing and submitting applications for Statutory consent and liaising with relevant Authorities
What you'll need to succeed
Chartered Surveyor or Member of Institute of Building
Building surveying degree
Proven track record of performing in a Building Surveying role particularly related to Public-Sector Housing but with experience in other Sectors. Full technical ability and up-to-date Contract knowledge
Self-motivated and confident with good presentation and communication skills
Ability to work in a team environment and able to lead on specific projects
Knowledge of Spreadsheets (Excel)
