Background of department/role

We’re looking for a Social Media Content Producer to work in the Department of Marketing and Communications, who is passionate about using social media to build communities and create a sense of belonging at our university.

Reporting to the Social Media and Content Manager, you will be part of a dynamic team of content producers responsible for creating content that promotes our university and drives recruitment to study here.

Key responsibilities:

- Content planning: You will work with the Social Media and Content Manager to plan content aligned to the University’s marketing calendar and aligned to popular trends that will engage, educate and entertain our target audiences.
- Content creation: You will work independently and with colleagues and students across the department and/or university to develop engaging content to be distributed across multiple channels.
- Monitoring and community engagement: You will be responsible for the daily monitoring of the University’s social media channels, working with colleagues to respond to enquiries and conversations in a timely manner.
- Reporting and analysing performance: You will analyse the performance of content against established set KPIs to continually grow and improve on results.
- Collaboration and best practice: You will collaborate with our diverse communities to build content that is representative of all communities, promotes inclusion and celebrates the communities in which we serve.

Experience:

- Undergraduate degree in relevant subject and/or marketing qualification.
- Experience managing social media platforms for marketing purposes and developing content for a range of platforms.
- Experience using Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, LinkedIn and YouTube.
- Experience using a social media content management system.
- Love of social media and keeping up to date with the latest trends.
- A passion and commitment to promoting equity, diversity and inclusion.

How will you work?

We are committed to supporting flexible methods of working wherever possible and this role is hybrid, working between home can the Canterbury campus, with occasional travel to our other campuses in Medway and Tunbridge Wells.
