Sales Executive


Nexus Media Events is an events and publications company focusing on B2B exhibitions, publications, and digital content primarily in the technology sector. Including the European Conference and Exhibition on Optical Communications and news title - Optical Connections as well as the King’s Awards for Enterprise publication.

• ECOC is the longest running event of its kind in the World, attracting more than 6,500 attendees and 320+ exhibiting companies each year.
• Optical Connections magazine has been providing the community with essential industry news and reports, since 2011. News is delivered through a combination of print magazines, website and monthly newsletters
• The King’s Awards magazine is the leading publication for the King’s Awards for Enterprise and works closely with the King’s Awards Office in the Department for BEIS.
• TOP conference is the latest event in the Nexus portfolio which features a 2 day conference and supporting table top exhibition.
Key Responsibilities
To assist the management and retention of Key Accounts you will be working and reporting to the Sales manager your main duties include.
• Maintain existing year-on-year sponsorship agreements with key clients.
• 80% of your time will be spent maximizing revenue through sales support including:
- developing current business accounts via rebooking
- an estimated 20% of your time to be spent on new business monitoring including ‘cold-calling’ and converting incoming enquires.
• You will further be requires to represent the brand at trade events, managing existing accounts and generating new business through pre-arranged meetings, networking, relationship building and ‘cold-selling’ to potential clients during the shows.
• Expand the company portfolio through the identification and implementation of new revenue streams.
• Providing support and administrative assistance across all departments within the business as and when required.


• This role would suit a candidate with a sales, sales support or business development background
• A track record of client management and building long term client relationships would be advantageous
• Knowledge and experience of selling digital and media advertising and sponsorship is preferred but not essential
• The ability to travel across the UK and internationally when required

Preferred Experience

• B2B background
• Digital and publishing sales experience
• Knowledge of the optical communications industry including photonics integration, digital silicon photonics and Optical Network Agility.
Office based in Kings Hill, West Malling, Kent. Full time appointment, 9-5 Monday to Friday working with a highly experienced small team. You will be required to work at least 2 days per week from the office.
Salary £29,500 with OTE up to £8,000 (capped)
