The Role
The Engineering Management System (EMS) Controller remotely monitors and operates tunnel and terminal infrastructure equipment to enable transport activities to operate in a safe environment for customers and staff.
Principal Accountabilities, Qualifications, and Experience
• Continuously monitors the status of fixed equipment using the EMS (Engineering Management System). The systems managed are electrical power, fire-fighting, drainage, cooling, ventilation, and communications.
• When operational or system events occur, work to configure the fixed equipment in a specific way following specific instructions and procedures.
• To take immediate action to protect, isolate, and limit the consequences of any incident or accident involving fixed equipment.
• Act as the first point of contact for technicians, to configure the fixed equipment for any maintenance works.
• Ensure that Minimum Operating Requirements (MOR) are met for fixed equipment and take the necessary corrective action to prevent them from being breached.
• Be aware of and comply with all Eurotunnel safety and security documentation. Compliance with all regulations and working documents.
• Maintain an accurate and up-to-date log with information on equipment failure, maintenance, events and actions carried out, information, and instructions received and sent.
• Reports and informs technicians of any technical fault or failure.
• Assume the role of Fire Warden when required.
• Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent. 
• Previous experience in a Railway and/or Control Centre environment would be beneficial. 
• Fluent English and the ability to communicate in French to an intermediate level (B2 or above) is essential.
• A valid Driving Licence and Passport are essential to facilitate reaching place of work in either the UK or France (at least 20% of shifts will be planned in the individual's country of residence). 

What to Expect
Recruitment Process:
Given the nature of this role, the process will include an initial French language competency test (an informal conversation via Teams), a first-stage interview, Psychometric (Safety Competency) Testing, and a visit to one of our Railway Control Centres (RCC’s) either in the UK or France.
In addition, successful candidates will need to pass the safety-critical medical standard required for this role.
